VIEWS News August 2015

Dear members, partners and readers,

Some of you might be in a holiday and we hope you enjoy it. And those who are busy at work we hope to bring you some joy with this issue of our newsletter.
In our network things are going on and activities too. That’s why you will read about two activities that took place, a youth exchange and an exchange for adults. Then we present you two new publications and we will send also a call for partners for a new project.
So enjoy them.

International Holiday in Tokaj Hungary

A new type of activity and original in its way. It is like a youth exchange but then for every one. Of course participant’s financial contribution is more important because at the moment there are not programmes that covers such activities. But there is certainly a need as after our call for participants in March the places were quickly filled in. Read here more about how it was. We really hope that these kind of activities will come from other partners too.

Musicted Europe

And yes Max' idea came true. It really happened. You could see it already on Facebook of VIEWS International but also on participant’s ones. During the first week of August many talents gather and produced wonderful things. Read here about and Lori’s article and we promise to prepare also some samples to listen to in our MP3 collection. Now you have another proof that your dreams may come true.

We are delighted to announce that a new brochure about our network is available. VIEWS International and its activities is presented briefly. In four pages, nicely decorated with pictures, you have the essence of what we do. Do not hesitate to use it whenever you can. The PDF-version is ready to print but that means that the order for screenreaders is not correct. So, we put one version easy to read with description of pictures.

We have another brochure about how to adapt games for visually impaired persons. This is the result of Adapt me if you can project. You get tips and tricks to adapt games and information and where to find them. You find again a PDF-version, readable in the good order and a version easy to read with description of pictures.

Call for partners 10 year adapted EVS

Call for articles

Have you got something interesting to let us know? Maybe a project, a useful peace of information for blind and partially sighted persons, a useful application or assistive technology to present? Then the VIEWS NEWS can help to spread it around. Send your articles at or to before the 15th of each month. You can also use our mailing list for questions or our Facebook page. Our calendar is also available with the newest events that will take place. These info channels are yours so do not hesitate to use them.

Before ending this issue, let me give you some good news. The youth exchange request of our Bulgarian Subscribing Member Labor for Blind was accepted. The event will take place in the first half of September and of course an article will follow in the next issue. Congratulations and we are sure that young people will spend a wonderful stay in Bulgaria.
