The perfect Match: Training

THE PERFECT MATCH – TRAINING FOR PEER EDUCATORS in Italy

This year again, between the 15th and the of march, a little group from Belgium, with other 9 groups more from different countries (Italy, Spain, Austria, Slovakia, Germany, France, Greece, Bulgaria and Hungary) participated during eight days in the project called “The Perfect Match”. During this training we build activities on some important topics like non formal education and social exclusion.
This project, conceived by the Italian organisation Lunaria, with the help of different other organisations, it is part of the program Erasmus+. Some of their principal objectives was:
to create a common space to share personal and professional experiences;
to set a deep and detailed analysis of the different background problems, specifically related to disability and the way to deal with;
and to create and test a common resources toolkit that facilitates the participation of youngsters with and without disabilities and encourages the exchange and mutual understanding among them, and that can be used in future projects.
We assaulted the different objectives of the training with the help of five facilitators, working with participative activities, divided in four different areas: discussion activities, outdoor and indoor activities as well as theatre activities. And in the last three days we had the opportunity to show and put in practice all the tools and methodology learned at the formation, organizing ourselves and divided in groups, the activities that we did in the last day.
In my personal opinion, the training was really interesting and formative, not only for the knowledge taught by the facilitators, but also for the great and different people who assisted, the professional experiences shared by them with the group, the new contacts did for future projects, the experiences lived together and the new friends met. Definitively, far to be regretted, I could repeat this experience without thinking about it.
