Advanced Planning Visit to Martinique

For the Youth exchange “Regards croisées” that will take place in April in Martinique an Advanced Planning Visit was organised. The event took place in Forte de France Martinique Island from the 18th to the 20th of March 2015. An advanced Planning Visit is an event that gives the organiser and the partners of a project time to better prepare it. This kind of event can take place when we speak about a project with a special target group. And disability is one.

I had the honour to represent VIEWS International and Zak from Baraka joined. The two of us and Géraldine, the person in charge of the project in the hosting country, we tried to prepare an accessible programme for all participants.

We visited the accommodation place a very nice residence situated a few hundred meters from the beach, with nice rooms in a nice place.
We visited also Saint-Pierre, the town where the treasure hunt game will take place.

During this visit we worked on the project and tried to find solutions to all possible difficulties that could arise.

We also gathered all the necessary information in order to be able to answer all the questions we had and all other potential questions from the young participants.

They were two fruitful days and a really enjoyable time.

These two working days were really needed in order to prepare the hosting of more then fourty people from whom about 10 are visually impaired.

I’m sure the participants will have a great time there.

Let’s wait and see what they will say in the next following issue of our newsletter.
